Spinal Life Australia in partnership with Cairns Regional Council, presents a fun, new accessible way to enjoy the beautiful Cairns Esplanade.
What is ‘the brike’
The Brike is a three-wheeled, battery power assist, pedal cycle for transporting the rider and a passenger in a wheelchair.
The Brike has been designed with a very comfortable upright riding position for great vision and a relaxed feel. The seated passenger is in a lower, up-front position for an exhilarating ‘wind in your face’ cycling experience.

Availability:
Monday to Friday excluding (Public Holidays) 9am to 4pm
Hire Cost:
1/2 day hire: $35
Morning: 9am-12noon or afternoon 1pm-4pm
Full day: $70
9am – 4pm
What you need to know before you book
- The Brike is to be collected and returned to the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre at 2-4 Smith Street, Cairns North
- Total weight including rider, passenger and wheelchair = 200kg.
- You can only travel along the bike tracks Cairns Esplanade.
- Both rider and passenger must wear helmets.
- The hirer must sign both the indemnity form and terms of use when hiring.
- Payment is taken when you pick up the Brike.
